I grew up on the hot, flat, dry plains of West Texas where winters were cold, summers were incredibly hot and the wind never stopped blowing. While I can’t say it was a fabulous place to grow up, it had its place in my life to help make me the person I am today.
Some very poor life choices in my younger years left me a single mother trying to raise my child alone. Those were some extremely hard years. I struggled to pay my own way through college and work enough hours to pay the bills without the benefit of any child support. I tell you this not because I want pity, but because I know that life can deal you some hard knocks.
I eventually graduated with not one, but two college degrees and began to build a stable life for my daughter and myself which I am very proud of. It was one of the hardest and most satisfying things I have ever done.
I worked for a number of years in the medical field and even worked for two years overseas in Australia, but the crazy hours vs. the low pay and high stress level just weren’t working for me. I wanted more time at home with my daughter.
I switched employment fields and ended up learning the computer programming side of the insurance industry. My love of computers had begun. It was about that time I discovered internet marketing while surfing the net one evening. The idea of working at home and making money online sounded like a dream come true, but I had no clue where to even begin.
While it’s embarrassing to admit, I wasted a ton of money buying books and software programs that always promised, “An avalanche of cash all on autopilot!” What a load of crap!
It’s not that the books and software were worthless, I acutally learned something new with each purchase, but I was still waiting for that magical moment when the money would come rolling in with no work at all.
Let me tell you right now that it is absolutely possible to make 2, 3 or even 4 times what you make right now with internet marketing, but if anyone tells you that it’s completely effortless, they are lying their butts off!
Internet marketing is a job just like any other and requires work to make it pay off.
The difference is that once you get the ball rolling, it’s possible to make more money than you ever could working for someone else at a 9-5 job and the best part is that no one tells you how much money you can make.
You write your own paycheck based on the amount of effort you are willing to put in each day.
